Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 May 2026

This policy explains what information Umpiry collects when you visit this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have deliberately kept data collection to a minimum: there are no accounts, no login, and no tracking cookies. Most of what we collect is aggregate and cannot identify you personally.

Who we are

Umpiry is a tennis data and statistical analysis platform that provides live scores, results, schedules and analytical context for professional tennis. The website is open to read for everyone and does not require an account. For any privacy question, you can reach us at privacy@umpiry.com.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, email addresses or any other details that identify you, unless you choose to email us directly. What we do collect falls into two groups:

Aggregate usage and performance data. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example which pages are popular, roughly where visitors come from at the country level, the type of device and browser, and how quickly pages load. This data is measured in a way that does not track you across other websites and is not used to build a profile of you.

Standard server and security logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting platform automatically records technical request information — such as a truncated or processed IP address, the page requested, and a timestamp — to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose problems.

Error and performance monitoring. To detect crashes and slow pages, we use an error- and performance-monitoring service (Sentry). It records technical diagnostic data — error details and stack traces, performance timings, and the page, device and browser involved. It is configured not to attach your identity (it sets no cookies and has personal-data collection turned off); some technical request data, such as a processed IP address, may be handled by this provider for security and diagnostics. As part of this monitoring, each page response includes a per-request infrastructure correlation identifier visible in the HTML source as sentry-trace and baggage meta tags — this is not a user identifier and does not track behaviour across requests.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies; our analytics and error monitoring are cookieless. Because of this, the site does not show a cookie-consent banner.

We do store a small amount of information in your browser's local storage to remember your own preferences — currently your theme (light, dark or system) and your preferred odds format. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

How we use information

We use the limited data described above only to operate and improve the site: to understand which content is useful, to monitor and improve loading speed and reliability, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles or to track you across other sites.

Legal basis

Where data protection law such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process this limited information on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, functional and well-performing website. Because the data is aggregate and we hold no accounts, in most cases we cannot link any of it back to an individual visitor.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf strictly to deliver the service: a hosting and content-delivery platform that serves the website and provides the cookieless analytics and performance measurements described above, a managed database service that stores the tennis data the site displays, and an error- and performance-monitoring service (Sentry) that helps us detect and fix crashes and slow pages. These providers act as our processors and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.

External links and affiliates

The site links to external websites — for example responsible-play resources and, where relevant, third-party partners. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, which means we could earn a commission if you sign up or transact with that third party, at no extra cost to you. We do not control those websites; once you leave Umpiry, the privacy policy of the destination site applies. Umpiry itself does not offer, facilitate or promote betting or wagering, and the site is intended for users aged 18 and over.

Data retention

Aggregate analytics and technical logs are kept only for as long as they are useful for the purposes above and in line with our providers' standard retention periods, after which they are deleted or further aggregated. If you email us, we keep that correspondence only for as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we collect so little and hold no accounts, we often will not be able to identify you from the aggregate data we hold; where we can act on a request, we will. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@umpiry.com.

Children

Umpiry is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we introduce new features or a new measurement tool. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
