Around the match

  • A lot has gone into this week. This isn't the end goal. It's a very good stepping stone. So much behind-the-scenes work has gone on for the past year and a half.

  • We've got four seasons in Cincinnati, so there was a lot of indoor tennis going on. I think I was very comfortable in here.

  • In the beginning it was a bit difficult because I hadn't played on this court before, so I had to get used to it literally. He was coming out firing, so I had to deal with that. But I'm happy with my performance, I'm happy to be in the final, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

  • I think it's unbelievably beautiful. I mean, the views and everything are so nice. Before coming here, obviously I knew about Vancouver, but I didn't really know where it was… I came here, and I'm not disappointed. I'm really enjoying my time in Vancouver, and I'm looking forward to spending as much time here.
